Casa Black

Charm
"The Madureira Saturday. Two institutions, one neighborhood, sundown to sunrise - plus the network it sits inside."
Madureira on Saturday night, the Black Rio scene most travelers never find. Baile Charm at 10pm, Casa Black until sunrise, transport and the safe ride home included.
Two Venues · One Saturday
The Whole
Madureira Day
Most travelers get sent to Lapa , cariocas-only-in-name, fanny-pack tables. Madureira is where Black cariocas actually spend Saturday. Two venues, four blocks apart. Parque Madureira opens it with afternoon culture into the Baile Charm under the viaduct. Casa Black closes it indoors until sunrise.
Parque Madureira
Largest park in Zona Norte. Skate, food, music by day. Baile Charm under the viaduct by night, every Saturday since 1991.
Parque Madureira is Black Rio's Zona Norte living room - skate ramps, food kiosks, Saturday musicians, families. At 10pm the Baile Charm kicks off under the Viaduto Negrão de Lima. Charm is slow soul / R&B / freestyle with a paired-dance tradition regulars have refined for thirty years. Multi-generational, sophisticated, recognized as Rio cultural heritage.
Casa Black Rio
Funk, pagode, afrobeats, R&B. The Black Rio nightclub.
Ten minutes from Parque Madureira. The indoor club that takes the energy through to sunrise. Funk and afrobeats early, pagode and R&B mid-hours, soft pagode at 4am. Crowd is 25-40, dressed sharp, mostly Black, mostly carioca. Hetero Black-music scene, but couples and families with older kids fit right in. No specific gay night. Where the city's Saturday lives until sunrise.
Madureira is Black Rio
The neighborhood produced Mart'nália, Zeca Pagodinho, half the country's serious samba and pagode. Canonical to Black Brazilian music. Parque Madureira and Casa Black are two anchor points in a zone that has been the cultural lab of Black Rio for a century.
Why they pair
The park is the open-air, all-day version. Casa Black is the indoor, late-night version. Same neighborhood, same music heritage, same crowd at different hours. The park hands you off to the club. Locals do this every week. BBE just makes sure you can too.
And the network around it
Casa Black sits inside a larger Black-Rio network. The founder behind Zê-êne (bar / club / barbershop / clothing store) also runs YOLO (signature production party), and partners with Everyday People for the Rio takeover every November. Tell us 24-48h ahead and we can fit a Zê-êne visit + Marlon meet-up around your Saturday.
Same network · The owner's room
One owner.
Four concepts.
Zê-êne is a bar, club, barbershop, and clothing store under one roof. The founder also runs YOLO (the signature production party) and brings the Everyday People Rio takeover to the city every November. Personal friend of BBE. The Black-Rio network Casa Black sits inside.
Zê-êne
Four concepts in one venue. Get a fade in the barbershop. Pick something off the rack. Drink at the bar. Stay for the club portion when it kicks.
The kind of room that only exists when one person runs every floor. Zê-êne is the owner's creative footprint in Black Rio - same crowd that fills Casa Black on Saturday, same network that powers YOLO and the EDP November takeover. Pair it with your Madureira Saturday for the full day-into-night picture.
Meet Marlon
If you tell us 24-48 hours in advance, we can usually set up a personal tour of Zê-êne with Marlon - the bar, the chair, the rack, the back room. The kind of access nobody books online.
What it unlocks
Knowing the owner means knowing the calendar. YOLO drops before they post. EDP Rio hotel + ticket combos in November. The Black-Rio production network from the inside.
