Why I built this.
I went to Rio for Carnival 2020. A week later the world caught COVID, the borders closed, and I was stuck. What was supposed to be a quick trip turned into six months. Six months turned into six years. That is not a vacation, it is a different relationship to a country than most travelers will ever have.
Speaking Portuguese opened the real city up: mothers who fed me, friends who walked me into parties because their cousin was the DJ. I built those relationships before any fame caught up. DJ Talie before she went mainstream, Ezequiel back when he sold caipirinhas on the beach, Jonas through our boy Yuri.

Every connection in the BBE network is one I made myself, one year at a time. The barber inside the favela. The mãe-de-santo who lets respectful visitors into her terreiro. The friend who walks you into a party because his cousin is the DJ. None of that is a product on a shelf. It took six years to earn.
After a while, friends from home started flying down. Then their friends. By the time about fifteen groups had come through, every single one of them told me the same thing: you should be doing this for a living. So I built BBE. Not a travel agency, but the network I spent six years building, finally opened up to the people who deserve to walk in.
