Concierge Feature
Card issues abroad? Solved.
Brazil runs on PIX, the country's instant payment system. Many places skip cards. Foreign cards get blocked. ATMs sometimes just say no. Your Experience Concierge can move money through the BBE PIX wallet when the plan needs it.
Card down? Vendor cash-only? Zelle, Apple Pay, or Cash App us in dollars. Your Experience Concierge pays in reais on the ground within minutes. Built-in backup for the most common Rio headache.
Available with every BBE itinerary, every tier.

★ Common Questions
Quick answers.
Quick answers to what people ask most. Do not see yours? The free planning call is the fastest way.
What's included in the itinerary price?
Your Experience Concierge on hosted days, route planning, transportation when included, and the experiences you choose from the menu across beach, culture, nightlife, and food.
Not included: hotel, flights, food (unless an experience includes it), and adult nightlife. Hotel and flights you handle on your own or we coordinate separately.
What's the deposit, and when's the balance due?
30% of the itinerary price secures your dates and locks in your team. The remaining 70% is due two weeks before arrival. After final payment we send your trip dossier with everything you need to know on the ground.
How far in advance should I book?
2 to 3 months in advance is best. Spots fill fast. High-demand experiences need more time, including Casa Black Rio sections, Flamengo home games, NYE on Copacabana, and anything around Carnival. The free planning call tells you what your specific dates need.
Can I customize an itinerary or swap experiences?
Yes. Most clients adjust at least one or two experiences after their consultation call. The itinerary is a strong default, not a contract, tell us what you actually want and we build it. Use our Trip Builder to mock up your own version, or pick an itinerary and adjust on the call.
Do I need to book my own hotel?
Yes by default, but we can coordinate hotel booking on request, with our preferred neighborhoods (Ipanema, Copacabana, Leme, Santa Teresa) and properties. Tell us on your call and we'll send recommendations.
Is Rio safe?
Rio is as safe as any major city when you have someone on the ground. Most BBE problems are people problems, not crime problems, and we navigate around them.
The Free Rio Starter Guide covers neighborhoods, ATMs, phone rules, and what not to bring. Read it before you fly.
Do I need to speak Portuguese?
No. Your Experience Concierge handles language interactions and translates in real time when needed. North Zone experiences happen in Portuguese, and your EC is right there with you. Knowing a few phrases helps but is not required. The Por Dentro guide includes the Portuguese that actually matters.
Is BBE good for solo travelers?
Yes. A lot of BBE clients are solo, especially through the Gay Rio Week itinerary. A few experiences have 2-person minimums (private chef, MasterChef Brasil, the secret-waterfall hike) but most work for one. Tell us your preferences on the call and we'll size things right.
What about LGBTQ+ travelers?
Rio is one of the most openly gay cities in the world. Posto 9 of Ipanema is a daily gay scene. The Home is among the biggest gay parties in South America. Our founder came out at 29 in this city and has been navigating it since. The Gay Rio Week itinerary is built specifically for that scene.
Do you do Salvador and São Paulo too?
Salvador is led by Sivaldo, a 20+ year cultural icon in Bahia. São Paulo is led by Ezequiel. Both itineraries are in development and both are available now by inquiry, as extensions to a Rio trip or standalone. See the Salvador / São Paulo page for what's currently offered.
What payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfer, credit card, and PayPal for the deposit and balance. Pix (Brazilian instant payment) for in-country additions if you decide to add experiences during the trip.
What's the cancellation policy?
The 30% deposit is fully refundable for 14 days after you pay it. After that 14-day window it's non-refundable, since we've already committed your team and any pre-purchased tickets.
Important: if you make your deposit within 30 days of your trip start date, it is non-refundable from the moment it's paid (no 14-day window), there's no time for us to fill the spot if you cancel.
Postponement to a later date is always available, no questions asked. The 70% balance is fully refundable up to two weeks before arrival.
Not a full itinerary? Still us.
Three more ways to use BBE: one free day, a shopping list, or a request that is not on the menu.
Don't browse. Talk.
The itineraries are a shortcut, not a cage. A free planning call with BBE tells you which itinerary fits your dates, your group, and what is actually running this month. Or we build custom from the menu. Either way, you do not fly blind.
